The Old Police Station Cafe
The police station in Market Place, Helmsley, was built originally as a warehouse in the early 19th century before it housed the local constabulary. It now serves an altogether more pleasurable purpose, although the heavy front door acts as a reminder of its past.
The Old Police Station Cafe, is the sister business to our Bed and Breakfast. Situated in Helmsley’s historic market place, our cafe is the perfect place to unwind with a ‘Good Old Yorkshire Cream Tea’.
Our staff ensure you have a warm and friendly welcome. We offer homemade cakes and pastries - including our specialities of Yorkshire curd tarts and Eccles cakes, baked daily on the premises and light snacks are available to enjoy inside or to take out. We also have delicious freshly baked and filled baguettes and hot and cold drinks. Or why not treat yourself to one of our soft whipped ice creams.
